Datwyler introduces its First Line manufacturing concept and marks the production start of the newly expanded facility in Pune

Latest expansion of Pune facility; first commercial samples available in September 2018

medical devices, announced that the first commercial samples of the newly expanded First Line production in Pune will be available in September. The expansion of Datwyler’s facility in Pune to accommodate First Line,the company’s own state-of-the-art manufacturing and production concept in the industry, is almost completed.First Line is designed to produce the advanced closure solution Omni Flex.

Latest expansion completed, first commercial samples available in September
The latest expansion of Datwyler’s production facility in Pune is almost completed: While the full integration of the First Line production standard and Omni Flex production line will be integrated by August 2018, first
commercial samples will be available in September. Once the new production line is operating to full capacity,the company’s production volume will exceed approx. 4 billion components per year, enabling Datwyler to provide locally manufactured state-of-the-art elastomer components to a growing market. With the expanded operation, Datwyler has set a new milestone for cleanroom production in India and the region. The company is currently supplying to the top ten pharmaceutical companies and global players in the region.

First Line standard for high-quality elastomer components
Datwyler’s First Line manufacturing concept for high-quality elastomer components is based on ultra-modern cleanroom technology, automated production cells, fully automated camera inspection, and a unique validated washing process. Datwyler’s facilities aligned with the First Line manufacturing standard are specially designed to operate under a zero-defect philosophy. The process flow, gowning protocols, personnel and material flow,and state-of-the-art technology and automation all result in the lowest endotoxin, bioburden, particulate, and defect levels available in the industry. This innovative approach to manufacturing exceeds the most stringent quality standards of the European and US regulatory authorities and is certified to ISO 15378.

Datwyler to further develop its position in India
Today, Rahul Dev and Datwyler’s global health care team have hosted an interactive Tech Day in Hyderabad.The global R&D team and technical experts have introduced Datwyler’s regional customers to the company’s manufacturing concept First Line and discuss future challenges in the markets. Rahul Dev has also used the occasion to give a brief overview of further expansion plans for Pune to support the company’s strategic plans for India. The new expansion will cover an additional 24,000 m2 next to the existing facility and is expected to be completed in 2021.
