TECHNICAL KEY ACCOUNT MANAGERUSA, Pennsauken

The Technical Key Account Manager (TKAM) will report directly to the Vice President of Injection Systems. This role is an integral part of the primary customer-facing team, additionally comprised of a Key Account Manager (commercial responsibilities) and Quality Key Account Manager (quality responsibilities). The TKAM’s main responsibilities include a.) Technical Support b.) Project Management Support and c.) Subject Matter Expertise. They will be responsible for acting as the first point of technical contact for multi-national customer accounts.
Areas of responsibility
Technical Support: This position provides product and process support, and technical advice concerning Datwyler’s products, services, and material selection for new projects. This incumbent of this position delivers technical presentations, both internally to various departments, and externally to customers. This position serves as the expert regarding the chemical and functional behavior of Datwyler’s products in the final drug delivery device. The TKAM will also provide input and collaborate with the Global Key Account Manager, and Quality Key Account Manager to define the strategic and operational development of the defined Global Accounts and product portfolio. This initiative is supported by collecting market and competitor information, evaluating customer / market requirements, developing new ideas, providing advice, and initiating and leading product development.
Project Management Support: This role sponsors and supports projects and acts as the main point the liaison between the Project Team and the Customer. A project can be defined as customer specific, or related to product portfolio extension/enhancement, or related to a site transfer.
Subject Matter Expertise: The TKAM focuses on material and application expertise and set-ups and supports data collection aligned with market trends and customer needs. At conferences and exhibitions, the TKAM acquires and exchanges knowledge on specific domains, builds and maintains a network of contacts with external technical peers and key thought leaders, and appropriately positions Datwyler’s products at technical lectures and in external publications.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Minimum of Master’s Degree in science or engineering related field or equivalent combination of education and pharma packaging industry experience. Equivalent post graduate research will also be considered.
- Degree in Materials Science a plus.
- Good knowledge of domain specific legislation, standards rules and procedures.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong knowledge of elastomers.
- Experience in project management.
- International travel propensity required.
- Experience in customer facing role desirable.
