Operational Quality Control Laboratory Technician
Initially, the position will hold significant responsibility as part of greenfield project team to assist in the setup of a testing lab in a clean, pharma packaging facility manufacturing elastomer closures. Such closures are typically used as part of a vial, bottle or pre-filled syringe system. Initial responsibilities include but are not limited to test equipment validations, purchasing lab supplies and finalizing testing instructions and operating procedures.
Once the state of the art manufacturing facility is operational the incumbent will move into the Quality Control Lab Technician function for the local operation.
Areas of responsibility
Product Evaluation: will be responsible to analyse raw materials, intermediate products, finished products or other samples and evaluate conformance to established specifications.
Testing: will be responsible for conducting physical testing (hardness, density etc.) as well as biological, physiochemical and functional testing as per US Pharmacopeia chapter 381.
This position will also conduct testing on the water system to ensure cleanliness requirements are met, as well as conduct testing to ensure surfaces and air are at correct level.
Reporting: will prepare reports.
Position Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with experience in Microbiology and with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a laboratory setting or as a microbiologist. The ideal candidate will have Pharma or regulatory experience. Good PC skills including MS Office. SAP preferred.
Travel during training period will be expected.
