Manufacturing Network Systems Engineer
Initially, the position will hold significant responsibility as part of greenfield project team to assist in the instal-lation, qualification, and startup of a clean pharmaceutical packaging and manufacturing environment. Once the state of the art facility is operational the candidate will serve as the expert on Network and Communica-tion Systems and supports the local operations.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing shop floor environment. Experience in validated pharma packaging or pharma manufacturing environment a plus. Ability to work with other engineers to both communicate and develop equipment needs. Experience in IT Network and Communications in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the following areas:
- WAN, LAN, VLAN
- WonderWare Archestra
- Databases: Access, SAP, SAPMII, MES
- Networks and interfaces
- IT Hardware: PC, scanners, printers
- Archestra / SCADA systems
- HMI touchscreens systems (SIEMATICS preferred)
- Informatics/ Building Control Systems
- Integration of new Systems on running network
- Software Validation (preferred)
- PLC-Network (PROFIBUS, PROFINET, MODBUS, …)
- PLC code (Siemens preferred)
- Robots and Robotics
- Safety circuits
- AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)
- Remote I/O
Areas of Responsibility:
Process Monitoring and Data Review:
Manages and maintains the interfaces with data acquisition systems and process equipment guarantee a smooth operation. Regularly detect and monitor process variability to identify opportunities for equip-ment/system improvement and minimize down time.
Serves as subject matter expert on network, hardware and data communication and supports operation teams in the trouble shooting and diagnostics of automated systems/equipment.
Design and Continuous Improvement:
Works with area engineers and SMEs on equipment performance and recommends opportunities for im-provement. Will manage projects and priorities in line with business needs (Safety, Quality, Time, Budget) and continuously work to improve automated processes through design and implementation.
During the initial training candidate will be required to travel to Europe for extensive process/product training. During the first year of employment travel expectation will be a minimum of 15%-20% international travel. After initial training incumbent can expect travel requirement of approximately 5%-10% yearly.
