Maintenance Manager

The position

Initially, the position will hold significant responsibility as part of greenfield project team to assist in the setup of a clean, pharma packaging manufacturing environment, including but not limited to: supporting in set up of infrastructure of utilities and machine installation. Once the state of the art manufacturing facility is operational the incumbent will move into an engineering support function for the local operation. 

Operations Support: Leads and manages maintenance function for the manufacturing facility. Supports day to day manufacturing departments leading and advising maintenance staff on equipment breakdown evaluation and action items to ensure production lines are able to produce on time and in full.  Supports manufacturing environment in the areas of installation and start-up of equipment.  Follows up on equipment performance and suggests and introduces improvements.  Oversees the maintenance and repair of the infrastructure/building.  Ensures all plant utilities are functioning in proper working order and are able to support the manufacturing operation.

Maintenance: Leads and manages predictive and preventative maintenance plans.

Project Management: Proposes continuous improvement initiatives and leads and drives projects through implementation.

Position Requirements: Strong technical competence is a required with a minimum of 5 years of experience leading a maintenance team in a regulated manufacturing environment, rubber or pharma packaging manufacturing environment a plus. Must have utility experience, working with compressed air, chillers, etc. Six Sigma knoweldge preferred and knowledge of SAP/MES required.  ATEX understanding required. Automation/Controls engineering understanding is preferred.

During the initial training incumbent will be required to travel regionally to Europe for extensive process/product training. During the first year of employment travel expectation will be a minimum of 25%-30% international travel.  After initial training incumbent can expect travel requirement of approximately 5%-10% yearly.
